My first Youtube video

I uploaded my first Youtube video a few days ago. I uploaded it for my post WoWPod for hardcore Warcraft gamers on my Warcraft blog. It wasn’t available on Youtube yet and the original video was available only in Quicktime format (.mov) so I decided to upload it myself.

I had to download it first on my computer. If I remember correctly, it was about 60 MB in size. I didn’t know what formats Youtube accepts so I just pressed the Upload button to see if it works. And it did. I’m surprised Youtube accepts files of this format. I found out after a little research that it accepts videos in most formats, including .WMV, .AVI, .MKV, .MOV, MPEG, .MP4, DivX, .FLV, .OGG. and .3GP.

Anyway, I let the video sit there for 1 day before I really used it on my blog – no description and tags. When I came back to it the next day, I’m surprised that it had reached 313 views already. And there was one negative comment on the video. I don’t know if that figure is good or not for starters but I’m happy that many people have discovered it. It must have been the New Videos section, the World of Warcraft title or What Videos People are Watching section. The following day, it reached 1,100 views – that’s with the description and tags in place.
